Hello @Jill Johns!!! I am not sure why  we, as a society, made things this way but its REALLY sad!  Im sure the internet and Social Media has "Disconnected" us. Have you tried meetup.com? And if there isnt anything there maybe you can start a new club yourself? im sure if you feel that way, other people in your area might too!

Hello all and Happy Mothers day to all the mothers here in BiggerPockets!!!

So here's the thing,

Im a Real Esate Advisor (dont like the word agent) lol and i DO NOT like the sales, prospecting side of business so i want to get that out of my head and think of this business a different way. To me this business is about MEETING new people, MEETING new FRIENDS! With this being said, i want to expand my circle and meet people everyday but i feel that doing that, specially as an adult, is looked down upon and it feels "weird" walking up to people in random places so what i want to do is join organizations or clubs but MeetUp seems a bit limited in my area... Could you guys give me some advise on any organizations or places to go to find and meet people more "Naturally"...

My name is Gustavo Martinez, i work for William Raveis out of Milford, Connecticut and i joined the business about 6 months ago while working another unrelated job. 

I am ready to jump in with both feet and make this my career as i really enjoy doing it and fell in love with the feeling i got when seeing my clients face after a closing! Man, it was fulfilling! I wish it was all about being a good person and knowing what we're doing to create business but sadly thats not the case. 

What are some out-of-the-box marketing ideas/lead generating strategies you have seen results with?  I am not the kind of person to do cold calling (sorry) and i love social media marketing but i need a bit more... 

Also, i'd love to meet up with any agent, lender, attorney, investor or just anybody interested in the business to talk!

Welcome! I am a fairly new agent but i have been with BiggerPockets for over a year. This is a GREAT resource for anything you can possibly need. I also work for a property management company which is small, family owned place that really does a great job taking care of tenants but more importantly, taking care of the investment! I'd love to help out in any way i can, I am working off the New Haven County area.
