@Matt Riggi Bayside and the rest of North Queens have pretty crazy prices already. i've check areas all over the 5 boroughs, most places are very pricey. i've been forced to look out of state of upstate ny. i don't think a FHA loan can work for me as it has to be first time homebuyer right? i currently own a co op.

@Eav Lim Do you put all your properties on parent LLC and lease it to operating companies or do you put the properties into the actual operating/sub llcs?

@jeanette Acevedo - Thanks!
@Gary Harris - please let me know what you have, anything is appreciated! :)

Hi all,

i'm looking to start my buy and hold strategy on multis.  as i am starting off , i need to build a solid foundation so i don't get taken out of the investing game early.  i know buying a home isn't just putting down 20% and signing contract of sales.

Prior to buying a home, i know i need to look at certain things on a house that can be potential cash flow killers or eat into my ROI.

Examples: Roof, Electrical, Heating, Water.  (i'd assume those are the main core issue that can really screw me over if i didn't do my due diligence prior to purchase)

does anybody have a more in depth guide or a cheat sheet for the walk through?  im hoping my home inspector will help me look at it and point it out ... but i'd like to have this knowledge myself as this is my investment, not theirs.

thanks in advance!

Hi All,

Hoping to get some insight on starting a Master LLC with Sub LLCs for a Buy and hold strategy. I've read a few discussions on BP and i couldn't find a post specifically about this. thank in advance

1.  Can i start a Master LLC for my first property and later transfer it to a sub LLC?
2.  I eventually want to have a Master LLC and have multiple sub LLCs per each property and have all the cash flows, flow into my Master LLC so it would be easier to manage (imo) -
3.  If a tenant were you sue one of my sub LLCs, are my other sub LLCs / master LLC at risk?
4.  If my Master LLC were sued, could my sub LLCs be at risk?
5.  When i do my taxes, will this get messy?
6.  any other concerns or anything im missing in my though process?

Thanks!
