@Abhay Sachar there are some good areas in Pittsburg/Antioch and some little tough areas. Right now I am not sure with the prices where they are you would find anything with a cash flow.  But back to your original question as to how long will it take for rent... I will say a month .

@Raj Ramachandran I moved from Mid West as well back in 2011 and within a year realized that its better to buy then to rent.  I would say may be rent for a year... know the area, commute time and other details.  

Oakley city did the same thing last year or early this year as a friend of mine owns couple of properties there.

@Todd Krzeminski  I have flood insurance through them so not sure if it is that they don't provide in state of Indiana. I got it through an agency.
