hi @Josette Sohmer , I would try sites like Trulia.com, forsalebyowner.com, craigslist.org or even here at BP's "marketplace".

Good luck!

congrats @Keith Rorer , "A journey of thousand mile begins with a single step" - Lao tzu , I believe everything is in the mindset and we beat ourselves before we even begin. So Congrats again and wish you much success.  I also interested in PA market, I'll PM you if I have some question(s) if you don't mind.

Cheers!

Welcome @Jasper Burns , As you probably heard from all the BP podcasts, even the experts still say they learn something new everyday, so we all need to start somewhere. I also Graduated in Computer Science and still work in IT for over 10 years, but my passion is in Real Estate. But I know passion by itself is not enough then I found BP. It's an awesome website for all level of expertise.

Wish you all the best my friend!

Hi all,

I need help on recommendation or suggestion on Broker or Banks that sell Mortgage/Bank Note.  Do you have any personal experience with your recommendation that you could share?

I've been looking and googling around and found some but not too sure without any review from others or BBB.

thank you

congrats @Jake Thomas , that is also my goal. I'd also like to hear bit detail of your success story from day 0, so we all could learn. Maybe @Brandon Turner could interview you for next podcast. =))

Congrats again!

Hi @Adrian Grauer , First of all,  the fact that you even thought about your future is automatically made you ahead of your peers where they're not even in that mindset yet. It really shows a good parenting and people you surround with.

If you want to get into Real Estate, this is the perfect spot, great people with great advise.

I never been in the Armed forces but I believe serving our country takes great men/women to do it plus it comes with tons of benefits when you become veterans that most of us could not do it, like getting VA mortgage and other benefits.

So, Listen to the podcast and read the book that can inspire you. You have a bright future if you keep at it my friend.

All the best !

Buy an Expensive car!!   just kiddin... I agree with @Corby Goade , I just bought my house before I even read biggerpocket, now.. come to think of it..., I wish I had considered house hacking and see the advantage of it. But... there's always another change.

btw, is $1500 is your rent too? if you get your math right in house hacking, you could live for free and save $$ for another deal.

Lots of blessing in the future =)

Hi @Troy Feldman , Yes, it is possible but before you even take it out, please call the company and consult with them.

Usually if she's not at the age to take the money out (59 1/2), she can borrow against the account and if she doesnt return before specific time, she may get charged with penalty and tax as capital gain.

So please call the investment company she has her retirement in and understand what is the upside and downside.

Hey @Julius King , I'd say aim for the stars but if you only reach bit lower than that, is that a bad thing? not really.  Gotta set your goal, it may change later as we go  along in the business.

I love what @Brandon Turner said in one of the podcast that real estate business is like walking in a fog, you may not see that far but you could walk a little bit ... by bit...

Btw, I'm in NYC too, PM me , I always love networking with others who has the same mindset.

Best wishes my friend.
