Glad I could help but with anything don't just take someone's word for it. Definitely do your research to find out what works. Some suggestions would be reaching out to local property managers to see if they have clients that rent this way. Also, you can reach out to current properties for rent to see if they rent out by the room and ask for an application to get an idea of how it's done. Wish the best to you! Good luck and I'll see you around on BP.

Morning Joshua,

I believe you can rent a SFH by the room. There are some SFH near campus, Xavier and UC, that I believe rent by the room. You will have to put in the rent agreement what your expectations are for the renter and make sure that all parties understand and abide by the agreement. You may be able to search for rentals online near these schools to get an idea of how this is done whether you are renting near a school or not.

@Bill Plymouth thank you for sharing this topic. I agree with others that it is inspiring and motivating to see others take the time to be vulnerable and share a topic that, though we are making some progress against the stigma of mental health in the US, it is still unfortunately viewed as weakness especially in business.

@Abel Curiel I felt really hit the nail on the head. These are all great points and worthy of being practiced. What I noticed helped the most for myself and others is doing the exact opposite of what depression wants from you. Depression often isolates us, makes us feel embarrassed to share our thoughts and views on life with others, lies and tells us that if everything is going well you shouldn't feel this way and its a feeling that will eventually go away or be ignored. Doing the opposite for me helps fight these symptoms. Seeking professional help, speak with others you trust like close family and friends often, taking time to meditate and slow down to acknowledge your mental state and not ignore it or push it aside for the sake of your business or anything. It much like running with a small rock in your shoe. Yes you can initially ignore it but the problem will continue to get worse till it gets addressed.

Thanks again for posting this topic!

@Abel Curiel

Welcome Ahmad,

Great to see new people here, especially ones excited about real estate. I am also from the Cincinnati area and working on my wealth building journey as well. Look forward to seeing you around the site and maybe connecting in the future!

@Nana Nkoah great question. @Mike Dorneman gives some great advice. REI is a very important step. It's great way to network and meet people. Also using this site, as you already are, is great for getting your name out there and making connections that others may miss.

Love your enthusiasm! Welcome John!

This is huge for me, especially the part about building a team and not getting ripped off by contractors. I'm only 15 mins in and had to stop but cant wait to dive back in.

Thanks!
