@Jon Khalil welcome to BP!

One suggestion I have about another way to find a potential mentor is to attend local Meetups. You can find these meetings on meetup.com or here on BP on the network ribbon under events.

Good luck in achieving your goals :)

Also, if you update your profile to include where you live, that information would come up near your posts so people know where you are from.

@Garrett Hawk I've got keyword alerts for anything about syndication because that is what I want to do when I 'grow up'. Hope you pull off this deal, it sounds awesome!

@Jeff Kehl and @Chris Tracy solid advice!

@Timothy Hall Hope you make your goal happen :)

One first step to consider is attending a local meeting to meet and speak to local investors who can tell you about the deals they've done and might be willing to share some contacts with you.
Good luck!

@Mike Cumbie Nice point taken from the story :)

I guess there is no 'right thing' in these situation: that old lady made the best choice she could with the information she had and the background she came from.

Now the rest of us get to choose if we want to take her path or do it differently...

Post: Looking to build Philadelphia network

@Dallas Ouano Hope you find the people your looking for in this thread! If not, being active in the forums and paying attention to the locations people are at, you might find some potential team members you can reach out to. One other thing, you can search for 'Philadelphia' in the search window and follow some of those 'leads' to find the people you need.

Best of luck!

@Colin Smith

I lived in Brooklyn, NY and though investing was for the people who had 20% down for a million dollar property. I now know differently, and am glad to see you get ready to invest as well.

One way to reach out to people in these markets is to get active in the forums and pay attention to the places people are from (it says that right after their name on top of their post) and then reach out to the members in that area by sending them a colleague request. (you do this by hovering the mouse over their name and clicking on 'connect')

Hope this helps!

@Kenneth Fields welcome to the site. One suggestion I have is to consider attending a local meetup for real estate investors. There are many such meetings each month all over the country and they are great places to meet other investors and hear what works for them. You can find these meetings on meetup.com as well as here on the events page under 'network' tab. Hope you find it, and good luck!

@AJ Leman If you think you'll like real estate, your sure to enjoy this website.

Glad you got a good start: I hope you can grow your portfolio soon!

Nice profile picture, by the way :)

@Stefan Isenberg: welcome to BP!

Hope you find the people you are looking for :)

If you don't get enough responses  to your thread, you can hang out in the forums and reach out to anyone living in the areas and markets you are interested in. If you reach out to enough people, you're bound to find the guy or gal that can help you!
