I'll be at rent court Friday (look for the We BUY houses shirt...great place to find motivated landlords). 

If they've already moved out, I wouldn't even bother probably. Chances of getting the money are slim and the hassle isn't really worth it. You can still report them to the past tenant list with the local landlord and property owners association.
