I believe you can start a fund and take and ownership % in the fund by moving the property into the fund. Not 100% certain though.

Has anyone had success in buying a neighboring commercial building for an assemblage? I am looking to purchase an office building next to one I currently own (and the one next to that) and was trying to determine the best approach.

Has anyone invested in a newly created Opportunity Fund? I see a couple out there (Fundrise $500M, Bridge Housing $500M, Virtua Partners $200M and independent funds) and wanted to hear from other investors what they thought of the funds.

Am I able to do a 1031 exchange from a strip mall to multi-family? If yes, am I allowed to be a tenant in the multi-family?

I have a commercial property in a Tier 4 TOC area in the Miracle Mile (Wilshire Blvd) that currently has retail on the ground floor and office above. 

Wanted to get thoughts on redevelopment options - looks like everyone is building retail ground floor and apts above but wanted to get thoughts on micro units and condos as alternatives.
