Buying a wood frame stucco finish vs brick in Brooklyn ny. If I have a accepted offer for a wood frame stucco house do I buy that or wait for brick house that 100k more expensive with tenants that will be looking to move but can’t due to difficultly finding a rental at this time in the winter. (I’m going to be house hacking) so I need at least 1 family to move. Plus just thinking ahead, bank might not appraise and will have to (not saying it will happen but just thinking ahead since I’m offering 150k over asking) come out of pocket to meet the difference..So torn!! Please help! Biggest decision of my life! Pros and cons of stucco houses? Good buy?

@Lorraine Patterson

Yes it's absolutely great. I had this happen to me. My condo appraisal came in 60k over asking. This built instant equity in my home. I had to pay PMI also, but since I had instant equity, I longer had to pay PMI!!! Awesome!!!

@Curt Smith

This is great stuff. First time investor here and I learn the hard way. Pretty accurate from the plumbing aspect. 5k to replace cast iron piping to PVC was a big hit. I also learned about the 2 prong outlets...still deciding what to do. It’s just a rental so I’m just thinking of replacing with 3 prong outlets without changing the wires/or grounding. What implications will happen? I read online that it’s just not grounded and can short much easier..any input on this would be appreciated.

@Chris Davidson how much more would you say it costs? I’m considering to go from NYC but curious as how much the cost difference would be.
