@Derrick Dill

Appreciate the response. As of right now, I can not move out of the dorms (1 year left) so I havent looked into using the VA loan but once I am able to, I definitely will. So I have been looking into out of state markets.

@Account Closed

Thank you for your response. I have met up with a great group of people, all investors. I will definitely look into partnering up with one or some of the them and see where it takes me. Thank you

Current situation: 23 years old. Military, 4 more years of secure income. Gross income est. 30k a year. Net income est. 21k a year. No liabilities (no car payment, living in dorms, etc.), No assets. Credit score mid 700s and currently holding 30k in savings. Living in an area where high capital is needed to invest (Hawaii).

Interested in REI since this is where most of my readings and education has been in for the past year and willing to take some risk and start up soon but given my current situation, I am no where near a market a newbie should start up in. So my question to you investors with experience is, if you were in my shoes, what moves would you make? Anything you recommend I should do so I can get my foot through the door? Things to look out for in 2017?

Any info is highly appreciated! Thank you BP community.

What's up BP community? Was wondering what other investors out there are using now a day. Any apps or websites that make your financial life easier? Or help you keep up to date with news for your markets and investments? Being curious

Also interested in learning more about the VA loan and wishing to use it for a mainland purchase since im stationed in Hawaii. If I may ask, what kind of waivers do you know of or did you personally use?

How's it going BP? Newbie to REI but definitely committed. Im currently stationed in Oahu Hawaii and living within the Dorms ( i.e. Barracks) on base. So my one and only income isn't so great and as many of you know, Hawaii is not cheap and probably not the best place to start investing for me. If I were able to move off base, I could use the VA loan to my advantage but I dont have that option for a couple years. So I have been prepping myself by eliminating all my unnecessary debts, saving up as much money as possible and educating myself. Within my studies and help from a co-worker, I came across Turnkeys. To me it seems like a pretty legit way to start off since most of the work is done for you but of course I will be doing my due diligence and staying patient like most of you preach. I came across some Turnkey websites like midsouthhomebuyers.com (by recommendation of my co-worker), roofstock.com, noradarealestate.com and others by using turnkey-reviews.com. I'm interested in investing in Tennessee and Florida because of the affordable market and I have family in both states so I could catch a flight out, visit them and have boots on ground. Investing in places I like to travel to. So to you REI pros out there, what are some great websites or resources I should be aware of? Are websites like Roofstock and Norada recommended? Am I thinking and looking in the right directions? Any help and advice is appreciated. Thank you all.
