Good morning Quinterrius,

Welcome to Bigger Pockets. You'll find a wealth of information here to help you hone down exactly what it is you're wanting to do. When you say start your own real estate company....are you wanting to become a real estate broker? That would mean getting your sales license and subsequently your brokerage license, then have other realtors under your brokerage.

If you are referring to investing, developing or building, or even wholesaling...that's a bit different. Although there are those who do it all. There are many streams of income to be made in real estate with or without owning your own company.

I'm a buy and hold investor, flipper and real estate broker here in Houston, TX. But I have clients in Miami...Dolphins lol....who invest in Houston because of our real estate economy.

I know this is old, but I'm looking to get my first multi so I'm reading up everything I can find. I have to say excellent post and great detail.

And yes I agree @Sharon Tzib is someone I consider a friend, colleague who is the consummate professional, so you have a great team member.

Home Depot, but I use one Amex for all purchases.  I also frequent Habit Restore and local lumber yards here in Houston and Galveston.

Sorry for the delay. I'm not around these parts as much. But yes I bought it sight unseen but have stayed at that complex before and knew I wanted an ocean front unit.

Be very careful with this strategy... and do stay away from any HUD foreclosures. If you are the winning bid and put down EM as an investor, you aren't likely to get it back citing the inspection period contingency.
