I stumbled upon this beautiful neglected home In a great suburban area with great schools and close to a major freeway. The home is not listed with any realtor on any website or with any company. The owner put up a for sale sign. I would love to talk to the owner, who is obviously motivated to sell and wants to keep as much of the profits themselves , about renting the home out or helping them find a buyer as is or helping them find a buyer while occupying the home in its current state and making necessary upgrades.

I have no experience with real estate.

Is this even a thing?

Help! It' a beautiful home and I truly don' want to see it go to waste.

I just want to follow this thread.
I have been doing my own research on this topic.

The eviction process varies from town to town. In some cases because people have nowhere to go, they were not expecting to be evicted... or they just don't want to leave and they will use their rights to keep you at bay. But in some cases they knew it would come eventually so they are prepared to leave and wont put up a fight.

Good morning,

I am currently straining my eyes from all the reading I have been doing on my computer at work and my phone and tablet at home. Staring at lists of foreclosures and empty lots of land just begging to be filled with brand new homes or just cleaned up for someone to come move in off the streets this winter.

Being that I have never actually bought or worked on a property, I am only filled with ideas and numbers for what everything would cost and how I could do it, if only I had the money.

I'm posting this to kinda fish for a mentor. Someone who has their hands on at least 50 doors and would be willing to let me work with them and show me what I can't learn from reading.

I need an Obie won!

great post, thank you for sharing your experience.

I'm not good at introductions.

I'm a single mother of two currently completing my Business degree and working full time. I am interested in flipping houses, among other things. Not just for profit, although it is a great incentive, but to also battle the homelessness epidemic we have on our beautiful island. People need affordable housing, yet we keep seeing tall, closet like, expensive apartment buildings going up in places where they could've renovated a home for a family. OR worse, there are "Zombie homes" that are simply being neglected and need some TLC. All guidance is appreciated!!
