Post: What questions should I be asking myself when setting goals?

1. What kind of lifestyle do I want and when do you want to reach that point?

Do you want to set systems to have 15 properties working for you while traveling the world? Or do you want to be more hands on?

2. Who do I need in my network and on my team?

Start verbalizing your goals and make it known what you intentions are, you'll attract like minded people.

Be as specific as you can with your approach to real estate, it's easy to get googly eyed seeing all the different types of strategies.

What do we think of the Temple market?

I am looking at deals that cash flow well, I am just skeptical about how it's going to appreciate.

None of their business. As long as the numbers work for the end buyer why should they care?

Depends on when you plan to repay the loan. If I know i'm paying it off in 3 years regardless i'm going to take the lower interest rate.

Depending on what ROI your shooting for your percentage will change. If you Want to make a 20% profit you should buy the property at 80% LTV, and thats including your rehab costs.

In Texas you are taxed based on what the County Appraisal District values your home. Every year the value changes, and you will be taxed base on that number. If you buy the property cash you will have to pay that tax once a year, if you are taking out a loan you will have to pay monthly.

Hey Zach, seems like we have a bit in common. I graduated with a civil engineering degree, hoping to use it to leverage new development projects I pursue.

As for groups I would join "Houston Investment Properties", "Houston For Sale By Owner (FSBO)", and "Contractor Networking page Houston". I would recommend you be more specific and intentional in the pursuit of your first deal.
