We started watching the webinars and signed up as a Pro Member in December and #BiggerPockets provided sound knowledge to go from zero to six properties in less than six months.
I am thankful and pleased with the support of other members too who never hesitated to answer my newbie questions.
Now I don't consider myself a newbie nor a Pro but I can call myself .... A real estate investor
If we did it anymore can do it
Keep on rocking

Good point ! The BC interior mainly the Okanagan seems to be picking the slack and benefiting from Vancouver foreigner tax.

I would go for two houses instead three. Yes the BC market is hot but a nicer house in a bigger lot will sell even faster.  Also people looking for places in your aren't looking for sardine cans.

@Scott Breier,

Is too early to tell but don't expect housing pricing to decline outside the greater Vancouver area. In matter of the fact I think it may go up even faster. "Buy and lock" investors will have to beat the bushes and seek for opportunities in Victoria or in the BC interior in general.  (yes, buy and lock as several investors from Asia tend to buy real estate and sit on them for years)

Nevertheless time will tell. (I would estimate noticeable changes in the real estate buying behaviour by the end of the year)

Hi Taylor l

The  Victoria area is great and appreciates well overtime so as long you cash flow keep going at it.

I am in the Okanagan which is good but the prices are climbing too fast and to cash flow is becoming harder. There's just much the market will be able to accept as far as rental cost hence making harder to find cash flow opportunities

Amen John !

I also praise BP as the forums and webinars gave us the appropriate information to make our decision. There are always risks (even to cross the street) but information and knowledge sharing is the key to mitigate risks.

We joined BP in December and by March we bought our first property in Kelowna.  Now we are getting ready for the second.

Happy investing and never miss the golden rule ...... it has to cash flow.

Cheers

Indeed the market is being pretty good but prices are climbing fast.

Just make sure you can cash flow based on the rental market Avg prices.

Cheers

@John Lusk ! Wow excellent news ! Vernon is indeed an attractive area where the prices aren't as crazy as Kelowna. I am glad Chris managed to help you appropriately. (I hate when a refer someone and they drop the ball)

All the best of luck and please keep in touch !

@Jay Hinrichs ..... Yes we love it here ! Hey let me know next time you're around ! Let's have a beer or two and chat. The immigration doesn't love you but we do ! Lol

@Sean Kollee ...... Yep is gonna be a gong show ! Sunday night we sent some workers back to the mines, yesterday they got evacuated and today they are flying back. Until the dust (or should I say smoke) disappear there's no way to really know the extent of the damage. Either way won't be pretty mainly now that the Black Sands Lodge (camp) , Super 8 and the Nova Hotel are burnt to the ground. (And other camps are current at Risk)
