@Ryan Den Otter Welcome to the site and the BP community!!  You will find a great amount of information here, both through the site and through the people you will connect with here.  I am relatively new to the industry as well and have found BP to be an invaluable asset.

What type of investing are you looking to get started with?

Welcome again and good luck!

What a great question!  I think it is a fine line for sure.  The best approach is probably to go with "cash for houses" or something similar.  However, as long as you are totally up front with the owners, I think that's the key.  Like has been said already, sellers are interested in the bottom line and that's getting their house sold.  So as long as that happens and you've been up front about your role in the process, everyone wins.

Thanks all for the replies and kind words.  I really appreciate it.  This site is absolutely fantastic and I've only been on it for a few weeks.  What a great resource this is.

@Theresa W. I would love to come to one of those monthly meetings sometime.  Is there a Meetup group for it or where can I get more information about the meetings??

I have had the same thoughts in regards to my engineering background and applying it to real estate investing opportunities.  I definitely plan to explore that further.

@Jon Huber I'm amazed already at the information contained on this site.  A podcast marathon is a must!!

@Dmitriy Fomichenko Thanks for the kind words.  I have set up alerts and I have made visiting BP often a priority as I get started down this path.

@Dave Visaya    Thanks and I will definitely check out all the site has to offer.

Thanks again to all!

Hello all!  I am a new investor from Denver, CO.  Specifically, I live in the Littleton area but I'm looking to invest anywhere in the Denver metro area.  I am a structural engineer by trade looking to get involved with wholesaling on the side to start out in the industry.  I am also considering getting involved with buy/holds to start out and/or fix and flips.  Really I am open to any of the three at this point.  I say I'm primarily interested in wholesaling as I feel it's the safest way to start out and I can continue to work my day job as well.  I have no previous experience in real estate as I'm just starting out.

I found out about BP through my connections on LinkedIn.  This site is fantastic and the information provided is invaluable.  I'm really excited to network through the site.  I've already found many helpful colleagues via LinkedIn and hope to do the same here.

I would love to connect with other wholesalers/investors in the area to network and hopefully work together soon.  I'm specifically interested in partnering up with a more experienced investor if such an opportunity would arise.  And always, I would love to talk with anyone about their experiences, specifically as it relates to wholesaling properties here in Denver or elsewhere.

Thanks so much and I look forward to the conversations on this site and beyond!
