@Corey Curtin

That’s great Corey! Congratulations on the success with your rental.

I did the same thing and so far it’s been a great experience. We built our home in 2018 in Minneola, FL. I relocated back to MA in 2020 and decided to rent out our personal home rather than sell it. In the last year since the pandemic my estimated equity grew about $50K just in 1 year. I was nervous to rent out our own personal custom built home since it was not one of my rentals. But now my mindset is to keep renting it until I can re-acquire it as a personal second / vacation home. The funny thing is, so many people told me not to do it that it would be a disaster. I’m glad I didn’t listen!

@Peter Sable no need to get your license as an investor unless you are planning to also work in the sales side. Not much benefits other than having access to the MLS. Instead your time and energy should be focused on building solid relationships with realtors in your investing area.

I will say the standard line

“Don’t wait to buy real estate. Buy real estate and wait”
