Thanks Gord for chiming in. Yes I'm well aware about not going the LLC route. I'm being very careful with this subject because I don't want to be double or triple taxed and get in trouble with both the US and Canadian Tax Man.

I'm in the same boat as you Jordan.  I also bought Brandon's "The Book on Rental Property Investing" book as well as "The Book on Investing in Real Estate with No (and Low) Money Down" but haven't started reading them yet.  I'm halfway through reading Garry Keller's "The Millionaire Real Estate Investor" which I'm enjoying and learning a lot.  Looking forward to reading the other 2 books!

A lot of good tax info in this discussion.  Thanks @Yousef Reda for addressing these points with everyone as I am looking to do the same thing and I don't want to get pinched by being double-taxed.

Thanks a lot @Roy N. for the book titles and information, I really appreciate it!  I really want to dive into this but I want to make extra sure that I don't get in trouble with the taxman!
