Hello BP,

Back in August 2017 I worked with a roof company to renew the roof of an investment property I bought in Miami.
I received a letter from a sub-contractor company telling me that the roof company haven't paid them and that under Florida's construction law this sub-contractor can file a lien against my property.

Has anyone deal with something similar to this?

Any recommendations will be greatly appreciated

Cheers

Diego

Thank you

I do think is a way to diversify specially when your employer is giving you money. However I think you should not Max, just stay with the minimum. The problem with 401K is that you will defer your taxes until you are 65 years old. At the time, every time you take money out you will be taxed at a certain bracket. (Depending on your salary) What are the changes that you will be making less income when you are 65? Take inconsideration inflation. Also, do you think taxes are going to go higher or lower? I think the best strategy is to do Roth IRA take the hit for the taxes now and take the advantage of compound free of taxes. (If your employer continues to contribute) Also look at the 401K documentary 60 minutes conducted. They show how some 401K hidden fees that disrupt this approach . Cheers

Are they month by month?  It seems like they want to give you a very hard time now on. In my opinion you have 3 options:

1) Pay a hotel for them and make the repairs/upgrades (maybe you can write of the hotel on your taxes) Ask an accountant (this is just an opinion and should not be taken as a professional advice)  I am not at accountant

2) If they are month-by-month maybe you can terminate the lease within 30 days of notification.

3) Have them agreed to allow you to make those repairs while they live there and credit a portion of rent back to them.

Good Luck @Mark David

Redfin shows that the property was sold for 1'050,000 and not 1'250,000 as you advertise.

@Jovan Hardwick are you looking for feedback only? or are you looking to raise money/partnership?
