"Are you wanting the subcontractor to hold your buddy's company harmless for issues arising from injuries sustained by subcontractor's employees on the project site?" This is exactly what I'm referring too. That should be covered under their employers insurance right? As long as they have insurance and a bond then the GC should be fine?

Hello All!

I'm working with a buddy who buys raw land and builds new construction homes on them. A question popped up today and I wanted to come to you guys about it. I tried looking for a form on BiggerPockets which would state that all subcontractors have been given a safety meeting and with their signature, they were no longer allowed to sue the company if something were to happen. Is there such a thing? If so, where can I find it? If there is another way to make this happen, please let me know.

Thank you everyone!

Hello all,

I was working today. I sell high quality synthetic turf for a company in Olympia Washington. Last week I went on a call and gave the guy a bid. He needed time to think. Today, my boss (the owner of the company) and I went to his house for a remeasure to confirm and to talk to him. After about an hour he decided to go through with it. I was so very excited because I had just made $3,000.00 in a total of about 2 hours of actual work. On the drive home I was talking to my boss about how I love this stuff and I want to keep doing it (definitely with RE in mind for a side gig until I could go full time). He then told me that he wants me to pursue my college degree of engineering and not stay with him forever because of many things. A few of those being, no steady pay, this kind of sale doesn't always happen, and no benefits at all.

This is where I got to thinking. Where the hell do you all get health, dental, vision, etc... benefits from? Do you have good benefits if you do? Do you pay a lot of money for them? Does your significant other, with a job that has them, cover them? Just curious. Might be a dumb question. And sorry for the big story for just one measly questions.

@Michael R.Thanks man! Work ran a little late tonight so I could only catch the ending of that webinar. I'll definitely watch what I missed as soon as possible. I figured that would be something he covered early on. I asked it at the end, but as we stated, there were hundreds of questions flying at him. Can't answer all of them! Thank you again.

@Brandon Turner Hello good sir! Glad to here from you. I hope that day come as well! I'd really enjoy a meet up of the PNW people here. One way or another, I will be on that podcast. I don't want to settle as one of those 40 hr week corporate dudes. I have goals and ambitions and they cant be satisfied with everyday work. MOTIVATION. I look forward to meeting you some day.

How do I find out about these local meet ups?
