Hello all,
My name is Daniel Root and I am a 27 year old want to be real estate investor in the Dallas area.
I have no real experience in the real estate world other than having read a few books like "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" and reading various articles on real estate investing including a number from the biggerpockets blog. After reading many of the biggerpockets blog articles and listening to some of the podcasts I thought the best way to immerse myself in the real estate world is to discuss real estate with people who really understand it. I also felt like it would be beneficial to create good relationships with people on the site who may be able to teach me things and in return I could help them grow their business or their knowledge base (once I know more of course).
Real estate has been something I have been interested in since finishing college and seems like a good way to gain financial independence while learning many useful skills and meeting great people. I am hoping to use the knowledge I gain from interacting with people on biggerpockets and members in the Dallas/Fort Worth area to grow my understanding of real estate. I realize that this process should never be a one way street so if there are any investors looking for something I could provide please do not hesitate to contact me. Unfortunately, most of what I can offer is only sweat equity as I am not very skilled in any obviously beneficial way for real estate investing.
I currently work full time for a chemical company in Irving, TX as a regulatory affairs specialist for those of you interested in what I do for a living currently. My college background is a BS in Biology.
My current interests in real estate based on what I have read and my risk tolerance are in buying and holding single family and multifamily properties. I currently own no property but am in the market for my first purchase whenever I can find a good deal.
That's about it for me so I look forward to getting to know everyone!
