Rick, thank you for your reply.

Yes, I have not given much context... my apologies.

I believe I am pretty stable financially. I already own a house and have enough saved to start investing now.

I am looking at the Houston market since it is where i live now, but i'm a little worried of how expensive all it is here. I saw many new investors stayed around the 150 - 200k

Hello all,

i am a newbie investor. I am starting to look for duplex/triplex in the Houston area.

i am working with a realtor who's sending some properties my way, but, as probably most of you, i am not 100% certain if i should go big on my first deal or play it safe in a different area (out of Texas maybe) and start with a much lower investment.

What is your advice/experience?

You probably had this question a million times already, so i apologize in advance.

Your insights are much appreciated.

david

Thank you all! All great pointers. Very much appreciated.

Hello all,

after reading and preparing as much as possible, it is finally time to kick it into gear. I am meeting a realtor i have worked with in the past today, who is also an investor himself, and will chat about what my goals are etc.

As a newbie investor I have a few questions and points I will bring up during our conversation, but wanted a word of advice from you gurus on what would you ask a realtor (or what DID you ask your realtor) when you started your journey.

Much appreciated!!

Thanks,

David

Hello everyone,

my name is David T from Houston, TX (even though I am actually from Italy).

Glad to be on BP with all of you!

As you can tell I am new to the world of real estate investing, but I've been doing my due diligence!! I have been reading books for beginners like me and listening to all the BP podcasts.

Some of the stories are really fascinating!

Anyhow, I just wanted to quickly introduce myself. I've been saving a bit of cash to start my RE investing journey where I'll be focusing on multifamily properties in no-income tax/low property tax states.

My goal is to purchase my first 4-plex by Q3 22.

I'm already actively reading the forum(s) and will have a lot more questions in the upcoming days/weeks.

Eager to get to work and, again, pleasure to virtually meet you!

David
