I do not currently have any vacation rentals but I’m looking to get some in Virginia/NC along the coast between Virginia Beach and the Outer Banks

I'm new to investing in the Hampton Roads, VA area and I'm wondering if anyone in the area has any recommendations...

I’m looking for a CPA and an attorney, preferably who are investors themselves or know real estate and investors needs well

Also any recommendations on PM’s?

Let me know who you guys use and your experience with them! Thanks.

I’ve been a bigger pockets member since July, 2018, however I just now am deciding to become an active member of the community. There are so many wonderful and intelligent people here and I would love to both learn and help others (even though I’m new, I know I still have something to offer someone out there).

I’ll start off by saying I’m 24 years old. I’m originally from Rochester, New York. I’m now living in the Norfolk, Virginia area and am active duty military. Currently I am working on becoming a licensed real estate agent part time and I plan to be able to move into this as my primary profession when I get out of the military (18 months to go). I am married and have a son and that is my main motivation for real estate because while others are working 9-5 I want to spend as much of that time as I can with my family.

My goal is to retire by 36, which to me does not mean I will stop working completely, but that I can spend much less of my time working with the option to completely stop at any time.

My interest in real estate does back to before I was a teenager. I always found architecture to be so interesting and I loved interior design as a teenager. I wanted to become a general contractor when I was a teenager and wanted to develop houses, but those plans were put on hold when I decided to join the military.

My goals have since changed a bit. My primary goals are to acquire a portfolio of rental properties and my main interest is in 2-6 unit multifamily homes. I also am interested in flipping houses although I would not consider that a primary investment strategy for me by any means and I don’t see it ever being one for me, however I love working with my hands and building/renovating things is a hobby of mine and that is more of where that fits into things for me. The fact I can make money is just a bonus! I guess it’s more of a very expensive hobby I have!

Anyway if anyone would like to connect I am always open to network. I’m still a very new investor but I plan on helping and learning as much as I can anyways.

@Bridget Smith-Osbourne Did you ever get contact info for their command? Contacting their chain of command will get that taken care of real quick as they can actually face punishment within the military under the UCMJ for that as well.
