How would a beachfront condo compare to a beach house that was a block or two away from the beach do in terms of rental revenue? This would be assuming similar specs (3b/3b) and purchase price.

Would appreciation be pretty close as well?

@Elise Marquette who is doing 15% down investment loans? My wife and I are looking at some properties in Destin and I just assumed I would have to put 20% down for investment properties. We have already used a 10% down vacation loan.

Can anyone who is familiar with these locations provide some insight on these two markets and why you may prefer one over another?

I’m also very interested in the rental rates. Online I have seen some sites claim that Gulf Shores brings in significantly more in rental revenue than Destin. That seems hard to believe but I have no other data to go off of. I would very much appreciate anyone’s feedback regarding the rates and information about the areas that you find appealing.

@Isaac Lewis I’d recommend getting a cash value line of credit through a bank and using your cash value as collateral. Cheaper debt cost and you have checkbook control for quick access.
