No,I do not have any properties yet. I just got Into a stable career and am looking to invest in the side. Currently debating out of state investing or to stay in California and get creative. It's a hard decision to make.

David Thompson Just a quick question!! I'm looking to develop a out of state rental portfolio as the Bay Area is to expensive. Any suggestions on states or cities to look into and do some research on? Looking at 4 unit buildings in historically stable markets for cash flow for around 100k-250k. (Eventually get into bigger properties in different markets) Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!

Great Post! I'm currently living in the Bay Area and looking to invest out of state. I'm in the process of searching for a good market to look into? Anyone have any suggestions? Looking to get into 2-4 multi-family buildings to start with, in stable markets for cashflow. Seems like some very seasoned investors on this forum and I would greatly appreciate all responses.

Great Post! Also looking to buy my first property! Looking into out of state, buy and hold multifamily properties for cashflow. Looking for historically stable towns and a good neighborhood. Any suggestions so I could expand my research would be amazing!!!

Or, does anyone have an opinion on investing in California? I live in the Bay Area and its quite expensive and I'm not sure what to do??

Hello BP Members, I am currently living in the Bay Area and working in the Bay Area but have decided to look into investing out of state.

The niche I plan to get into is buy and hold multifamily properties for good cashflow and ROI. Im looking for a historically stable area that wasn't hit hard in the last crash(more of a smaller town).. But also has a few big business and a few good schools. So my chances of something effecting the economy aren't as bad as if there were only 1 big business that provided for the town.

Looking to buy my first property within the next year! Any suggestions of places I could do some research on would be amazing! I have been studying and reading for the past 6 months now and want to try and step my game up!

All responses are appreciated!

Hello!!

This is for all you West Coast experts, everyone knows how the market is in California and the bay area to be exact. Is the right move to get started even though the market is so high or wait for a down spell and better chances for profit? I am currently living in the bay area and saving up for a first investment.

I have a construction background so I don't mind getting my hands dirty to fix something up. I also don't mind a little drive if getting a better deal means that. I am interested in a duplex, triplex, or quadplex that could get me started in building my portfolio and start growing. I am on track to have a good chunk of money by the end of next year and am hoping to get started soon after.

Im grateful for any response I know its not everyones first choice to to talk to a newbie like me. But I have to start somewhere! Thank you for your time and efforts.
