I have a buyer who discovered that a home he is otherwise very interested in was bought at foreclosure and refurbished by the current owner. We haven't seen the property in person, but the pictures look fine. My buyer is no longer interested in the property, but hasn't explained his specific concern--he seems to think it affects the value of the home. I'd hate to see him lose out on the perfect home for him based on some false notion.

Or is there some basis for his concern neither I nor my QB has thought of?

Has anyone else come across this belief? I'm trying to perhaps understand his concern more before I broach the subject with him again.

Thank you for any thoughts you may share.

Hi guys, I'm starting real estate agent classes at my local community college in one month. I'd like to get a head start on learning the basics. Can you recommend any online resources or books for me to study?

Thank you.

We can help each other by subscribing to our local twitter feeds, Angie's List, Yelp, and the like and using them to give honest, thoughtful feedback, both positive and negative, to the contractors and community.

If there's room in the market, double down and raise their rent. That's how to negotiate with someone who has a weak hand.

You could have large matte vinyl stickers printed with photos of windows and a door. It would fool most people from a distance.

First, I would only give a cursory explanation, unless they ask for more detail. Then, briefly give a truthful explanation. In the unlikely event they give notice, you can't back down, you need to let them leave.

It's legal in a few states now, its on the ballot in CA this year, and if it passes, the rest of the states will start to fall too. I'd be more concerned about a pit bull than weed, and I've never used it.

Thank you for your tip on a way to find decent contractors. It seems like an on-going process, meaning a contractor who does great on one job, might be crap on the next for whatever reason.
