Buyer stigma around refurbished foreclosures?

I have a buyer who discovered that a home he is otherwise very interested in was bought at foreclosure and refurbished by the current owner. We haven't seen the property in person, but the pictures look fine. My buyer is no longer interested in the property, but hasn't explained his specific concern--he seems to think it affects the value of the home. I'd hate to see him lose out on the perfect home for him based on some false notion.

Or is there some basis for his concern neither I nor my QB has thought of?

Has anyone else come across this belief? I'm trying to perhaps understand his concern more before I broach the subject with him again.

Thank you for any thoughts you may share.
