Hey Everyone - Quick question, Just had tenants move out and they only could find one of the two keys we gave them. What do you do in this situation? I am already planning on changing the locks, but do you charge a fee for a missing key? Thanks everyone!!

@Thomas I haven't either. I don't want to judge if there is a legitimate issue, but seems like they are trying to hide credit history. I'm hoping that isn't the case. I've tried calling the company, closed weekends, so I will be in touch with them Monday. Thanks

It was done by a credit company and they don't have access to it. The mother simply replied stating that her son tried to do the credit and background check  Comet through the company,  but it came back  unaccepted due to his  lack of credit history.  I find that very odd.  That is my question, has anybody had somebody , with no credit history  do what she states, come back as an unaccepted?

@Thomas S. "She" is the main applicant, the mother. From whatbis gathered, she will be the main source of payment and has great credit, income, job history.. but her son and wide will be residing in the property as well and I inform them they needed to also do a credit background check. I don't have any idea if they (son/wife) will be actually paying any portion of the rent. But they are over 18 so they needed to do the credit/background as well. The mothers credit, background, job history is outstanding, and I would love to run to her, but I'm just struggling with the sons credit check. Should I not worry about it as the mother has great references/credit/employment?

I would say early 20s. Regardless if he doesn't have a history, it should still send back something, correct? She's claiming that it was not accepted and has nothing to show me.

Hey Everyone, Hope your Saturday is great!

My first tenant in my first rental just moved out after two years, so I'm now trying to fill it. I just had someone fill out an application and completed a credit/background.. which came back perfect. Her son and daughter-in-law will be moving in as well and have also submitted an application. The lady text me saying that her son completed the credit check, which is part of the background check, but was unaccepted.? I have never heard of this. She claims that her son has never had any debt and pays everything in cash so he doesn't have a credit history to submit for. Has anyone heard of this, or do you think they may be hiding something? I'm hoping this is an error on the credit/background company I use (Rentler.com). Thank you all!!

Hi there everyone! I just had a prospective tenant text me asking if I would be open to renting to someone that has an ITIN number and not a social security number. I am not sure the best way to go about this, so I thought I'd reach out to you all to see if anyone's ran into this issue before. Thank you!!

@Lauren Havens - Thank you so much for the FB marketplace tip! I've had several interests, and have had a few showings, since I listed it on there yesterday.
