I work near there and know people that have to go through (now around) the area.  It was like one of those "it can never happen in my state" things and now it is happening.

I am thinking about participating in the howard county maryland tax lien auction.  From one of the seminars I took it was stated that finding the trustee was a better route than bidding on a lien as big companies can buy them up easily and banks normally won't let you get a property if too much is owed.  Were the presenters correct or were they just blowing smoke in my direction.

Thank you both for the advice, I went to meetup and signed up for a REI distressed property club. I also went to the network/meet section and saw many people but want to get more familiar with the lingo before I start reaching out to people.
I downloaded the ebooks and will get to them this weekend.

Hello BP site.  I just attended one of those tax lien seminars and while doing searches I found bigger pockets.  Both my wife and I work and we are looking to get into rental properties so we can change careers and focus more on our kids.

I was wondering if the pro subscription is really worth it.  If it is, I will get on it right away as I am very motivated in doing this and want to go full speed.  Also if there are any meetups in the 20852 or surrounding area can you let me know.

I have been listening to podcasts and reading the free books available and one of the things that seem to be consistent is to get involved as getting deals started and asking questions was the best way to learn, have you found this to be true?
