Do I buy myself a home to start building some equity or do I get a cash flowing property first and continue to rent until I can afford my own home.

(Du-plex is extremely hard to find in my local market)

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to answer my call of distress🙏

My relative owns a rental property that he is trying to sell. He owes $90k and it’s worth around $130k. The property has a tenant in place for the last 5 years and is paying $1100/mo. The tenant maybe interested in a lease to own type deal as well.

How can I leverage this situation into my benefit? I would love to buy the property myself and either continue renting it or work something out with the tenant that is beneficial for us both but I am currently trying to purchase my primary residence at the moment and don’t have the purchase power for both. With my relative trying to sell ASAP but also willing to help what can I do?

@Jordan Moorhead

Is there a zoned map or something I can find that are ideal areas that allow tiny home builds in the Austin area.

Hello,

My name is Dakota and I plan to purchase my first home/investment property with in the next 9-10 months. The plan is to owner occupy a multi family property under an FHA loan. The perfect property would be below market value with value add opportunities to be able to cash out refinance ASAP. This would ideally cash flow enough to cover majority of mortgage expenses for me to simultaneously lower my cost of living and give me leverage from the cash out to purchase additional investment properties.

**Is San Antonio, Texas a healthy and rentable market to make that happen?

**If so, where?

**if not, why and where?

THANK YOU,

Dakota D.
