Hi Eddie,  I checked out your profile and looks like you have some experience in maintenance and your wife in real estate.  Between the two of you you should have a reliable roofing contractor to evaluate the roof on a full gut or just a re-shingling.  I assume you probably already know because of your work.  Don't let the posts scare you, I think you mentioned you want to hold and rent, good luck and let me know if you have any questions along the way on D&C side of things.  Cynthia Murphy, CKBR

My name is Cynthia Murphy and I am new to the forum.  I live and work with my husband as a contractor in the Northern Virginia area.  After 20 years in both Real Estate Finance and Contracting we are just getting started in Real Estate Investment.  I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Getting started in real estate investment has been on our list every year but this year we have been scaling back the consumer side of our business so we can focus on developing in this area.  I love reading all your posts and learning from your mis-steps and successes.  

If there is ever any advice I can offer in the design or construction please don't hesitate to reach out I'm happy to help out.

I am new to the group and wanted to introduce myself.  I own a Kitchen and Bath Design and Remodeling (Class A) in Fairfax Virginia.  I have 20 years experience in this and a 20 year Real Estate finance career but my husband and I are just getting started in Real Estate Investment.  It has been on our list every year to get started and this is the year for us.
