A pet deposit is a pet deposit but I wonder if their insurance would cover it? I wonder if it's legal to charge a pet deposit for a service animal?

We repair credit. We are not a subscriber so I can not report anything to her credit. It wouldnt make a difference most places just require a bigger deposit for bad credit. We were aware of her credit and of course wanted to give her a chance.... it's a lesson learned. A tough one but a lesson none the less. Thank you for your input. I asure you our coices in renters has changed drastically. I always want to help people especially those with kids but some people can't be helped. :) no worries. I'm over it, I just wanted to share my story.

Ha ha ha! Seriously. We wanted to give a single mom a break and look past her credit and aparently common decency was not one of her strong qualities. Oh well.

My Husband and I rented a fully furnished house to a woman and her child in Henderson NV. She decided she no longer wanted to pay her rent. She was evicted after 3 months. She not only destroyed the inside of the house but she also took all the furniture and appliances eccept the fridge which she dumped over onto the travertine floors and cracked.... This was a high end home. Our Previous home that we had furnished and decided we wanted to start again so we left all the High end furniture, paintings, plasma TV's ect... The police were called as she was moving everything out. They didnt stop her because she had a lease. The lawyers said they wanted a 5k retainer and we could get a judgment against her. Judgment.... thats a laugh.... this woman is a stripper in Vegas. 1099 and tips... you can't garnish her paycheck...... We repair credit for a living and we rented to her so we know what her credit looked like and she didnt care about her credit, a judgment wouldn't have hurt her or helped us any, and we'd be out more in court costs. So we get to write off 100k in stolen property this year..... so sad.... beware of renting furnished housing.. there are few laws protecting you and even more that DO protect the tennant. Oh and YES we had a detailed list of items the house came with on the lease..... so sad.

Ha ha actually, I'm 8 months pregnant, and a few months ago I moved off the island of Kauai to Eugene OR to have my baby near family. The medical care on the tiny island was pathetic and I was having to drive 2 hours away to my appointments. Plus the branch in Kauai was up and running so we moved here to open another. We plan to move back to OC around September of 2009. Once the branch is established here will will open yet another down in OC. It's nice here.... I went to college here ;b. My view overlooks the wetlands. No I didnt much care for Kauai.. the island was closing in on me. :)

If you are trying to establish credit try and remember that the size of the limit has little to do with building credit. I can refer you to a couple of unsecured credit cards with low limits that can get you started to re-building your credit. I AM a credit expert. Unsecured is going to help you more. These are not affiliated with the company I work for. I actually used these cards to help re-build my own credit. Everyone gets approved unless they have had these cards before and defaulted on them. The limits are like $175 and $300 and the interest rates are high but that is the price you pay for less than good credit. They will increase your limits over time and remember, the interest rate is irrelevant if you keep a 0 balance on your cards. Use them to pay your bills and pay them off every month. Please let me know if I can post the links. I'm not trying to break any forum rules.

Look at it this way.... Why would all 3 credit bureaus choose to use the same scoring module? Would that not negate the need for 3 seperate bureaus? They would essencially be putting themselves out of business right? I don't think this rule is going to change any time soon. Of course an underwritter can look at a file and see that a borrower has only AU accounts and deney the loan based on that IF and only IF the client doesnt have enough of their own tradelines. Remember that most AU accounts can be obtained through family and friends for free. Why trust a stranger? If your husband or wife is not on your good accounts as an AU than they are missing out on valuable points that they deserve,... IN this industry every bit helps.

My advice on Purchasing any line of credit or TRADELINES is to make sure if you pay any up front fees that you only deal with a company who accepts credit cards. If they fail to provide you the sevice you paid for you can dispute the charge with your credit card company and charge back the fee you paid. Remember to read all your disclosures carefully. If a company can not accept credit cards and askes you to pay with a check or money order... hang up the phone and find another company to deal with. Any legit business should be able to accept credit cards unless their merchant accounts have been cancelled due to excessive charge backs and or the company is a scam. At the very least unoraganized and unprofessional. Be careful when purchasing ANY type of service over the internet. However again.. if you must.. always and only pay for services using a credit card.
