@James Mudd Howdy. I was a member of Lifestyles Unlimited in Houston back in 2006 & 2007. I joined, along with some partners, to learn how to invest in multi-family deals and to get help walking through a deal like that. I did not know about BiggerPockets at the time. I appreciated the education I received at Lifestyles and the coaching by the mentors. I ended up meeting a few other people and investing in a multi-family apartment as a passive investor. I am still in that deal today. Everything taught by Lifestyles is here on BP. This is an amazing source. And the networking can be done at your local meetups, of which there are at least a few in Dallas. I can't speak to the Dallas Lifestyles club, but the Houston Lifestyles club is worth the $400 investment I believe when you are just starting out. I am not currently a member of Lifestyles because they teach a buy and hold strategy. I am working on starting a new business using a fix and flip strategy.

I'll be happy to share more details of my personal experience if you like. Just send me a message. I would not spend any more money on membership at the club, but definitely take advantage of what you have paid for already! And in the spirit of this week, let's all be thankful for BiggerPockets!

Hi Ceasar. Congrats on taking action! The other posts have already given you the best tips, but I wanted to reinforce the importance of grammar and spelling. When I receive mail or email that has incorrect grammar and/or incorrect spelling, I pretty much throw it away or delete it right away. Some people may not care, but I think it's pretty important, and it show's you have pride in your business because you took the time to make it right. It might be helpful to edit and update your card, then post a picture of the new card here for the BP folks to proofread and review for you. Good luck!

@Carlos Silva Welcome to the site! I recently joined myself. There is a ton of information on the site to help you get started. I have been listening to the podcasts, and I think that is a good place to begin. It is interesting to hear the stories of each investor and what they did to make their business work. It's also encouraging to hear the successes. I am working to make my first deal happen hopefully in the next month or two. As @Brian Freeman mentioned, there is a DFW BP group. They are having a meetup on Thursday, December 5th @ 7 PM at Champs Bar & Grill in Las Colinas. I hope to see you there!

The local BP group is called DFW BiggerPockets Real Estate Investment Group. If you search for the group on Facebook you will find the page and be able to "join" the group that way. The next meetup is scheduled for 7:00 PM on Thursday, 12/05/13 at Champs Bar & Grill in Las Colinas, TX at 855 West John W. Carpenter Frwy. This will be my first meetup to attend, so I'm not sure what to expect. But I am sure it will be great!
