Well,

Even though there is so much negativity about the author I will finish the book. You guys are correct, it's an easy quick read. Thanks for the advice! I just didn't want to get any wrong ideas in my head that the book might teach me. But I have plenty of others to read as well, just spending my time wisely!

hey guys,

I just purchased the book rich dad poor dad and started the first 50 pages and decided to do a little investigating about the credibility. My question, why do so many people back the book if there is so much controsoversy behind his methods and how they work? It seems through reviews the first chapter (while fictional) is the only beneficial chapter. I haven't made it very far yet. I just don't want to waste my time on a book that won't help. However, I did love what I've read so far. I just don't want to get any wrong ideas flowing since I'm still new.

You think its not a bad option? We can hopefully refinance once my fiancée starts working and we have more income to spare! We would use it as our primary home for a while now

Hey guys,

Here in Raleigh, NC I applied and was approved for a First Time Home Buyers Loan of 100% financing, and that comes with the increased interest rate of (includes the cost of mortgage insurance in the interest rate) 4.86% per month. We don't exactly have the full 20% down to qualify for a normal loan minus the insurance. Would this be a solid choice for us to take? I only know as much about loans as I have read. Thanks in advance for the input!

Hey guys,

I'm still new and was wondering if anyone had any good recommendations for good real estate books to read. I was wanting to be a buy and hold investor and rent out, however, i'd also be interested in wholesaling but i don't know much about this. Thanks!

I guess I really need to find a time when I can devote more time to it.. I would love to be able to structure deals on the side for some extra cash. Is it that difficult really?

@Michael Jobe, When you say to hang your license on you mean that technically I have to work for them? Or have them in a sense "hire" me to use their name for deals and purchases? I am just trying to figure this out. Is this something around NC that is hard to find?

I'd recommend either HPW Real Estate School or JY Monk. Once you pass the class and state exam, you'll have to find a brokerage to hang your license with and attend MLS training before you can get MLS access. It can definitely benefit you in doing your own deals if properly utilized.

Feel free to send me a PM if you have any other questions.

So, I notice you said MLS training. Is this something I would have to find. Realtor or company to train me specifically? Does this mean in a sense I work there temporary? I wouldn't have a huge amount of time outside of school. Normally how long does this take? Thanks!

Also, if I persue this further I will message you and see if we can set something up!

I am going to wake tech now! Haha. I guess I need to Cheka again. They had some stuff, but nothing directly related to that. I'll check again. Thanks!

Where would I go to possibly obtain my real estate license in Raleigh, nc. And would this benefit me in the future to access the MLS and to head my own deals. Thanks! I'm already going to school so I figured it wouldn't add much!
