@Tom Ott @Ali Boone

Both of you have good information, thank you. I see you offer turnkeys which is interesting. Can I get more info on those and what the midwest or other good markets are like?

@Michael Dang

Thank you so much for the post.

Is there a place or good source to leaen about out of state and what people I need on the team? Is there a general trust building procedure or source that aids in showing me what I should look for?

Hi BP,

I am looking for stages of education that hopefully others can use as well.

I figure I will need to know what a good market is, financing, analyzing good deals, how to find information on markets/properties and how to make a process for buying properties. My issue is am I leaving anything out and where do I go to learn this information?  What should I learn first? Is there a must read book/source?

Thank you to all the people who reply.

Hi  @Sam Shueh

 Thank you for the advice. I use loopnet. Is there a preferred site to do this sort of searching on?

@Guy Azta

Thanks so much for the great post. I would like to help you out with something: What do you have going on? I have an analytical and creative mind (says everyone right? Lol) and consider more possibilities when solving problems than most people.

How do you go about finding out the information about different markets (employment base, demographics, growth and other developments, as well as comps and rent ranges) as mentioned in your post?

  1.  An apartment where they will let you live for free to manage the place or be on call (great experience for owning your own);
  2. Work for a local property management firm this summer showing rentals or turning around units;

How do you go about getting these jobs? Are there certain credentials or requirements?

Hi all!

I am a new investor from Northen California and no significant savings but have just started my 50k/year job at 22 years old. The market here is so expensive that I want to explore options elsewhere. What would be some good markets for someone from my area?

@Joseph M.

A part time real estate job could be a good idea too. Maybe something with a local investment firm?

How would you get a job with an investment firm if you have no experience? Where would you find these firms as well? I just finished up my bachelors in mathematics and would love to try my hand at working for a firm.

Hi BP community!

I am Cody (as already stated),

I am 22 and looking to make a good side and eventually a career out of real estate. I will begin making 50k/year soon and my wife makes 60k/year currently with our own house and need some advice on how much money we should start saving a year minimum if we want to break into the nor cal market. Ive been looking into apartments but what ive seen is they are all multimillion dollars so I am looking to homes in cali or perhaps out of state markets as an alternative. What are your suggestions on a plan of action based on our current salaries, (just used savings for our house) and market prices?
