@Andrew Angerer Hey Neighbor(relatively)!

Not a bad idea at all, and one that I didn't think of! From listening to BP podcast and Grant Cardone I have some biases against single family homes and especially the "risk" that they have.

I'm certainly a hopeful for a duplex/triplex convert for a house hack, but I'm open to the option of Air B and B... seems risker than duplex, but great point about the landlording experience.

I'm thinking of purchasing a single family home in Pittsburgh(Bloomfield or Garfield) and convert it to a Duplex to house hack wit my girlfriend with an FHA or 203K loan

A few questions regarding that:

Any Yinzers have any experience around converting a single family home to duplex/triplex in the city? I understand that the separate rental need to have a kitchen area etc. How expensive is that? Is this recommended for a newbie?

Thank you very much!

Hey Yinzers! I'm new to this game and would love to meet up with some RE investors in the Pittsburgh Area! A little bit about me, I'm 22 and currently living in the East End and would love to purchase a duplex/triplex in this area(East Liberty, Shady Side) or Lawrenceville to house hack in the next year! I'd love to grab a coffee with anyone who is interested in talking REI!
