We just had a burglary and lost a bunch of tools. Which camera or system would you recommend to protect or monitor the site for safety and optionally double as a tool to check for trespassing / capture work progress

@Bruce Woodruff

Sure what are the pertinent questions ?

The consultant I work with has over 40 years experience himself and saw the site - do you have recommendation on finding a better consultant ?

@Bruce Woodruff

Yes it calls for new slab and I told him there is foundation work

So nothing is binding unless stated in plans? It’s in the contract

And yes he keeps asking me to order windows or even deal with electric company for the amp upgrade

I made him deal with the amp upgrade but helped him order the windows, and I still don’t see why it’s CO to install - can you help explain?

@Caroline Gerardo

I’ve done many remodels

I’ve yet to have a GC that keeps asking for money up front before work start and ignoring the retention

These are all stated in the contract

He got mad because I’m sticking to the contract, so yes I would have fired him if it weren’t so costly

@Patricia Steiner

Can you help me understand why the consultants are ignorant ?

How did you come to the conclusion that I’m not paying them?

@Caroline Gerardo

I offered him bonus and liquidation damage past June 1 now he’s asking for sept 1. We just started sheet rock. I might give him an extension to sept 1 if I don’t fire him

Yes the addition is in the bid I told him and in contract he needs to make new slab foundation to account for it. Then he said he need a change order and charge me for framing the siding - it’s just filling a hole on first floor so no roofing

The window schedule came from them - these are just replacements and they gave me the window sizes to order

@Caroline Gerardo

They don’t follow the contract at all, and ignore payment schedule on paper

I wasn’t clear earlier : I hired them as consultant for advice - I have been managing the GC directly via communication

This morning the GC called me asking me for money , I told them I will check the site and pay for work done. Then he cut the call and text back asking for more money with change order

I asked but he never gave a schedule now that the project is behind, there is no walk through / communication the only time the gc shows up is when he ask for money

The advisor wants me to fire them and the other said to pay them whatever for the change order

As you said
