Thanks Shawn! Right now I think the biggest concern my husband and I have is that there are just SO many airbnbs and how do we compete? We want to make sure we’re considering all avenues and getting the right house. That being said, we’re confident we would do a great job and part of me knows that there’s a lot of airbnbs out there that DONT do a great job. I also know there’s TONS of tourism to the Orlando area. Just a new thing for us and a big investment in both time and money..

My last day at my w-2 job is Monday. I was completely fed up with it and we’re at a place where our rental income covers my paycheck. Now I’ll have more time to continue building our portfolio and I’ll be doing something I love.

Good luck getting your wife out! It’s amazing how quickly it can come when you put your mind to it.

My husband and I started investing about two years ago. We love it. I’m obsessed with every part of it from finding deals to managing rehabs to leasing the units and managing them.

Why real estate? 1) It’s a passion. 2) it allowed me to leave my full time job that I wasn’t very happy in. 3) I’ve got flexibility in my work so that I can spend time with my two young daughters. 4) it’s going to help my husband retire early as well. 5) we provide a safe living environment to our tenants. A place they’re proud to call home.

I’m so happy I found real estate!

I know a couple of other people in the Janesville area that were planning on having a meet-up this Thursday but it got postponed due to the high covid numbers right now. My husband and I were under contract on a lake house in Montello, WI that we were going to use as a STR when Covid hit last year. We bailed out of fear if the unknown. For the last 6-8 months, we've been searching again for another property but are struggling to find counties that are STR friendly. It seems they either don't permit them, or have limitation which make most properties ineligible for a permit.

Does anyone have experience with counties that ARE STR friendly? Looking for southern Wisconsin specifically. Just found a property on Lake Kosh but Jefferson County requires the property be on a 1 acre lot or greater.. 🤦🏻‍♀️

My husband and I are looking for someone to do our personal and business taxes this year. We just started an LLC a few months ago and we currently have two rental properties in Kansas City, MO.
