@Adam Karr - Did you end up getting a RAL home? I'm contemplating registering myself and my husband for the training in August but just can't pull the trigger. We've been self managing our LTR portfolio of 11 doors since we began investing 4 years ago. Thinking RAL is a great way to get into an emerging market and make some good cashflow. Would love to hear from you!

@Tyler Rayman Hi! How have things been going with your RAL homes? I'd love to get an update on what's happened in the last year! My husband and I are contemplating signing up for RALA's 3 day live training in Phoenix. We're just not 100% sold yet and are hoping to talk to others that have started recently!

@Cale Delaney I know this is an old thread but I'm curious to get an update! How was the training? Have you opened a RAL home? We've been self managing our LTR portfolio of 11 doors since we began investing 4 years ago. Thinking RAL is a great way to get into an emerging market and make some good cashflow. Quote from @Cale Delaney:

I’m flying out to Phoenix tomorrow to attend the residential assisted living facility training with Gene Guarino. I’ve listened to him on the BiggerPockets podcast and the real estate guys as well as from Rich dad radio and see lots of opportunities for the residential assisted living facility asset class. Is there anybody that is an investor in this asset and business that has some input or feedback on it? Or anybody with experience that is looking for a partner? I have capital to deploy and I am a senior project manager for a large international contractor by trade. Currently I have single-family homes and a small multi family, but I am looking to expand and I am very interested in this and would love to speak with some people who are experienced in it.

Hi Cale! I know this is a bit of an old post but I'm wondering how the training went and if you continued in RAL. I'm contemplating signing up for the 3 day in Phoenix...my husband and I have been investing in LTR for almost 4 years. We self manage 11 doors. Just looking for a change and more cashflow. Look forward to hearing from you!

@Al Boettger @Eric D.@Luis Chug interested in connecting. I've been in San Antonio since last Oct. Will be attending an RAL Academy next month. Are you all still looking to do RAL?

Hey Reden! Did you attend the 3 day training in Phoenix? I'm contemplating signing myself and my husband up for August's training... just nervous to take the plunge. We've been doing LTR for almost 4 years but think RAL might be a good transition for us at this point. Would love to connect and hear about your journey!

Go find a site for "The Residential Assisted Living Academy".  They are the go to for education on this subject.  Also research Gene Guarino, who really make it a household name.  They have seven videos you can watch for free, then consider also their educational items.

Hi Al! I know this is an older post but I stumbled upon it while doing some research on RAL. I've done the free videos and have read Gene's book. Have you used RALA? I'm trying to decide if we're going to do the 3-day live training even next month...hoping to get some input from others who've gone down this path.

Thanks @Mark F.! Hi @Kyle Barazowski! Pleasure to meet you (virtually for now). Like others have said, networking is definitely key. Being able to talk real estate with others, especially those with experience, is so important. Everyone on this thread is someone I've talked to and asked their opinion on something!

Mark mentioned our condo we're doing. I'll be headed there this week at some point. Definitely stopping by Friday but that'll have to be a quick one. I was thinking I'd try to get there Wednesday as well. If you happen to be free, I can let you know if I make it there. I don't have any other projects going on right now. My husband and I actually do most of our investing in Rock County Wisconsin although we're always looking for things that make sense here as well.

It's a little bit of a drive for you but I do host a monthly REI meet-up in Huntley. We happen to have the next meeting this Thursday from 6-9pm at Sew Hop'd Brewery. We'd love to see you there!

@Jonathan Klemm No problem! Thanks! Definitely feel free to tag me. :)

@Mark Ainley I would say, no. We're probably not on there!

The meetings are a little more of a relaxed meet-up. We haven't gotten to the point where we do speakers or anything yet. More of just networking. But it's always a lot of fun. We tend to meet about each month the third or fourth Tuesday/Thursday (we try to alternate to allow for different people's schedules). We have been meeting at Sew Hop'd Brewery in Huntley for now.

We run everything through Facebook right now. I need to get an email list going but haven't yet. The Facebook group name is: Kane and McHenry County Real Estate Investor Meet-Up. People can also feel free to reach out to me here.

That'd be great if you guys could spread the word! Always excited to get new members.

 Hi @Christle Stezskal

I'm also in the McHenry County area! I've lived here all my life and am hoping to connect with local investors.

Hi @Ryan Smid!

Feel free to find me on Facebook or send me a message here and we can connect! Would love to see you at our July Meet Up on the 28th!

Thanks for tagging me @Mark F.!

Hi @Evan Corsolini! We have a McHenry and Kane County meet up that I run. Send me a message and I can get you set up so you'll be notified when we have meetings. We usually have meetings each month at Sew Hop'd in Huntley.
