Post: C.A.R. pre-license training

I'm strongly considering getting my real-estate license in CA, and am wondering if anyone here completed their pre-licensing coursework through the California Association of Realtors. They offer three package levels: Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Bronze is the least expensive, Gold the most. You get additional tools if you choose the Silver or Gold package.

Has anyone here had experience with the C.A.R. training? Is it a good option, or is there another school you'd recommend?

Thanks for reading!

@Jason Blainthanks for posting this. I'm thinking of becoming a real estate agent in CA, and the feedback here has been very informative.

@Davin Thrasherthat sounds great. What I'm up to right now in terms of REI is reading! I'm trying to get as much information as I can, so that when I do pull the trigger I know what I'm doing.

Also asking myself what my goals are, what kind of investor I want to be, and thinking of getting my real estate license.

I'd like to buy in Sonoma County if possible, and I definitely want to buy again in the Seattle area.

Welcome @Davin Thrasher! I'm in Sonoma County as well, and am just starting out in REI. My long-term goal is to buy and hold rentals, and possibly try a flip and see how that goes. Right now, I'm educating myself.

Good to see someone else from the area!

Excellent @Bryanna Mendoza! I'm going to my first RE meetup in a couple of weeks. I'm pretty excited! I have a lot to learn.

@Account ClosedI currently just have the one property. I'd definitely be interested in doing more investing in the Seattle area though!

Fantastic! My place in West Seattle (I rent it out) could use a rehab for sure. Built in 1918, full basement, not many updates. I would love to give it a full rehab, but first I'd need the funds.

Very inspiring post, thanks!

Congratulations @Jacob Beard! Your story is truly inspiring to us newbies. Thanks for posting!

Wow @Alex Applebee, this is so inspiring and motivating! You really did jump in with both feet. First time, a flip, and out of state? Amazing!

Did your loan cover the rehab costs as well as the purchase price?

Congratulations are definitely in order. Good luck on your next deal.
