Gunvant Kathrotiya... first thing I would do is get in touch with a solid realtor on the ground that has deals.  The good ones that aren't always on MLS... i've connected a ton of investors on the coasts with my realtor... she's a hustler and always delivers.. let me know if you're interested!  Team is essential, but you can do it with a realtor and a manager... that's it.

Hey Carla... welcome.. tons of great advice to be had in this forum.. what type of properties are you interested in?  and what part of town are you looking?

Honesty is a great start... first order of business would be to get your packet together... tax returns, bank statements, your resume, paycheck stubs etc... And then get a pre-approval from a local bank..... not a chase, BOA, or USBank.. then... we can start shopping and running some numbers.  

I have an excellent broker and realtor that I use...   answers texts and emails at any hour including weekends.  Knows the market and your business, her business!  She's helped a ton of us out here on BP.  you can message me and I'll send over info!

@Dan Krupa's response is great... don't need LLC's if you get an umbrella for the one. If you have a friend or a buddy that owns rental properties and they have an LLC... you could look at theirs, read it and customize it for you. if you file yourself it shouldn't cost any more than $200 for tax ID and LLC... simple stuff.
