@Account Closed

If you don't mind me asking, in what areas do you own rentals? I'm just trying to understand the trend of Jacksonville i.e. newer areas vs older, areas that seem to be growing, etc. It's hard to get a feel for the area without actually living there so if you have any input in that regard I would very much appreciate it. Thanks for taking the time to post.

@Larry Fried

Mr. Fried,

Thank you for your response. This was my first post so it's nice that it was noticed. To answer your question; ideally, I would be living in one and renting the others. It seems to me like it is one of the best ways to get a start in real estate when there is the lack of capital that most investors inevitably run into initially. However, I am open to any suggestions you might have for how to begin a real estate career while also maintaining my career in the Navy.

Hi all,

I will be moving to Jacksonville in a month and I am looking to invest in a multi-family property (ideally a quad). I will be moving there because I am in the Navy and I will be there for about 4 years. I am interested in getting as involved as I can in the local real estate scene, given my time constraints with the Navy and I'm simply using this post to reach out. I would appreciate any input on best locations in Jax to look as well as the best places to continue my search. I am open to any other input anyone is willing to provide as well-always ready to learn. Thanks everyone.

Hey everyone,

I will be moving to the Jacksonville, FL area in a month and am interested in purchasing a multi-family (ideally a quad). I'm looking for any recommendations about best locations in the Jax area/where to look for the properties. I'm in the military and will be there for about 4 years and I'm looking to get my start in real estate via the live-in multi-family method and would greatly appreciate any and all input from those in the local area.

Thanks,

Chris Porter
