@Christopher Phillips Thank you for your help. I called the Delaware Bank and labeled it as a fradulent transaction. They said they would investigate it and cancel it. Placed a fraud alert with TransUnion for a year. I guess that's all I can do at this point. What chaps me is that 1) I am a forced customer of the 3 credit bureaus and 2) Nobody I spoke to on the phone cared and they were difficult to understand. Do you have a recommendation for a identity protection company? I know there are several of them.

@Christopher Phillips Thank you for that. Should I feel comfortable giving out my social security number over the phone?

Hello everyone. Great forum here. I have been lurking for a while to soak up content while I get my personal financial house in order. I need some help and thought this would be the place to ask. I'll stay short and concise. I haven't applied for a credit card, loan, payday advance, or anything similar in years. I noticed a hard inquiry on CreditKarma last night. Called the institution (Barclays Bank of Delaware) and they wanted my social security number. I didn't give it to them because I haven't heard of them, nor did they give me any reason to not doubt them. Called TransUnion this morning. Lady said to fill out a dispute online. Attempted that process, but was unable to complete it because I couldn't dispute item I needed to. Called back TransUnion, the guy told me to call the creditor on my report. TU said to get a letter of deletion from Barclays, they won't do that without my social security number. I'm frustrated. Nobody within these two companies seems to care and they are demanding of my social security number, which I don't want to give them. Anyone experience this before? How can I fix it and remove this check to my credit? What can I do to prevent this in the future? Thank you for any insights!

Well done! Glad you were there! I agree with another poster. Get tested for any diseases.
Lots of posts on this topic. I am an I.T guy. From that point of view... I would run a speed test from the areas that she complains have low connectivity. You could monitor channel traffic, and select a less used wifi channel. Another option would be to run a cable through the wall and create a wall jack for her tv. None are hugely expensive, I wouldn't happily pay for them as the property owner, but of it keeps the otherwise good tenant happy...eh. If you anticipate renting to more college students in the future, the wall jack may be a selling point for them.

Hi everyone,

I am relatively new to this. I've taken a class (lots of unhappy feelings there) which initially piqued my interest and then listened to several podcasts and have been reading on the forums on and off over the passed couple years.

One of the things the class taught me about and the podcasts nurtured was mobile homes in general. I am interested in purchasing a mobile home and doing a rent-to-own scenario with the tenant/buyer. I have the people in line to do repairs to the home, so I'm not worried from that standpoint.

All of that to ask...and this is probably a novice question....what do I do with the signed agreement between myself and buyer? Who do I give it to?

Do I need to have it notarized?

Do I keep the title to the home while the buyer makes payments or give that to the buyer up front?

Maybe a better way of asking: could someone do an outline of the people involved in such a transaction, which documents are needed and where they go?

Thank you for reading!

-Chris
