Hey Courtney. The Wichita REIA meets the first Saturday of every month at 5. The meeting is at Range 54.

Bill may have addressed this in another thread but generally speaking the property would need to be held for 2 years in order to qualify for a 1031 exchange. And that would be in addition to the requirement of the intent to hold as an investment.

I'm a CPA at my day job... I'm working with other real estate investors and agents in the area. Which is also fueling my desire to invest.

David from a tax perspective you definitely need a separate business account. You may never get audited but it is always best to be prepared and having a separate account shows business intent and that you aren't commingling funds.
