Hi Everyone,

For a home built before 1970, would you add the Sewer line camera inspection to the full house inspection prior to closing? This potential property is in OH and from the 50s. I was told that the sewer lines from the house to the street can possibly get clogged / or damaged by tree roots which is impossible to tell during a home inspection unless a sewer line camera is ran down the sewer line to detect the problem. I know this could be a big problem and very expensive to repair. Wanted to get your thoughts - would you add the additional inspection?

Thanks!

@Charles Renn Thinking about that as well and we are talking to local agent to find a big enough duplex / triplex as my in-laws are moving in with us later. But frankly, I am not really sure about house-hacking in NJ is a good option given the fact that 1) NJ is not a very landlord friendly state; 2) high property taxes here. Thoughts?

@Danny Kaminsky Thanks for the insights. Curious how's the population growth around suburbs of Raleigh? I do notice that there are many new builds in the Raleigh metro area though, and they can be expensive.
