@Pat G. it's always a good idea to get someone else' perspective on the issue.  I haven't applied to any actual jobs yes, except one, but my intentions were made in my cover letter.  Of course, this was the only job I have seen that actually fit something I would like to do.  Haven't heard anything back from them, though.

If I can't find anyone, I'll just continue to push forward and try different avenues.  :)

I really want to learn things about wholesaling, rentals, and flips so whatever assistance is needed for those strategies.  Pretty much whatever needs to be done that they feel I'm capable of doing and they don't want to do.  I'm a pretty quick learner, so even though I lack, I know I can make up for it quickly.

It's been suggested to me many times that I should attempt at being an assistant to someone who is already in the field.  This would be a good way to make a little money and learn more about the field.

I currently live in Woodstock, Ct.  I'm willing to travel a bit, or do virtual if we can find a way to make that work (or both.)  I'm willing to work hard to prove myself and learn the trade!  I'm very driven and want this to work out!

Please message me or post your interest.  I can have a resume and cover letter if need be.

Thank you guys for furthering this discussion.  I know it's not just going to help me, but others that might be thinking the same thing.

Welcome to BP, Jasmine!

You should attend a few of the webinars, along with listening to their podcasts here.  They always give suggested books that people in the business really love!

I would also try to find a mentor that is already in real estate.  I have found two through the power of BP and they're both awesome people that are eager to answer my questions and help me out.

@Jake E. lol At the end of the day I guess we all just have to do what we feel is best for us!  Probably would be wise to go with the market, in my opinion.  In all honesty, if the places around here didn't supply them as well, I wouldn't either!  I hope you have a great one too. :)

I lived in a rural area in Texas the one place I did rent out there did not provide any appliances at all.  Not all of the rentals there were like that, but this one company in particular was.  It did make it a tad difficult when we moved because then I had all these appliances I needed to get rid of, because my next place already had them.

In this area of Connecticut, they seem to always supply a refrigerator and a stove, at least.  In the apartments I live in now mine is the only one that doesn't have a dishwasher.  All the other apartments do, and that's really only due to there not being any room to put one.

Thanks @Jay Hinrichs!  I'm definitely on the look out.  I'm trying to figure out who is the "top dogs" around this area, and I have a generally good idea.  I'm still trying to figure out the best approach to this as well.  I think I'll just start mingling. :)

If you're ever back this way, check out some of the Putnam ones.  They have some new galleries up on Main St and even on Providence St.  Providence St has some really unique art!

Hey @Jay Hinrichs.  I was looking for the art gallery you were talking about but couldn't find it.  It's a small town, as I'm sure you know, so I'll ask around for you in case they're not big advertisers.  Small world!

Thanks guys.  I'll see what I can do.  I really appreciate all the information.  I was really hoping to start investing in the next 6 months, but I think that might be a little out of my realm at this point.  I'll just continue to proceed on!
