@Zachary Berwaldt - Here's also a post I wrote about house hacking in Boston.  May be a helpful resource.

Best,

@Zachary Berwaldt - Hey Zach,  Welcome to Boston BP!

I'm a fairly new investor/realtor in the Boston/Greater Boston Area.  We're out in Jamaica Plain (fairly close to NEU) managing a few duplexes.  Also looking to grow/network with other RE investors.

Let me know if you're ever in town and we can chat over coffee.

Thanks,

Cheng

@Account Closed had alluded to already, most neighborhoods in Boston have "emerged" already.  I'm seeing a lot of activities in Dorchester, Malden, and Quincy.  There's certainly opportunities in every neighborhood but your price range may dictate where specifically.

Happy to meet and chat about this over coffee if you're ever in town.

Good Luck!

Andrew,

Thanks for reaching out.  I actually did come in touch with Chris.  He's got a 32 unit around Roxbury/Mission Hill area.  Not sure if I want to invest in a premium Loopnet acct...

Best,

Cheng

Hi All,

I'm looking to network with some seasoned brokers with experience in large multi-unit apartment buildings and management. Specifically in the greater Boston area.  I've been a small residential investor/owner in the past  few years and would like to move into the larger multi-unit space.

Let me know.  Thanks,

Cheng

@Macy Koch - Hey Macy! My girlfriend was out in University of Iowa for a few years for her MS.  I've heard great things about that city and its resurgence! I'm a fairly new RE investor/agent out in Boston (Jamaica Plain) so if you're ever around town, I'd be happy to chat with you and David.

Best,

Cheng

Post: Investment Partnership Agreement Templates

Hi All!

I've met a few individuals that may be interested in partnering up on a deal.  The high-level discussion would require me to do the work (find, analyze, buy, manage) and they'll provide the funding/downpayment (50% to 100%).  I would charge the appropriate fees (commission, and PM fees if I decide to manage) and take a proportionate cut of the profit/cash flow based on percentage of down payment.  Currently have a queue of 3 folks that are interested.  I've never worked with a partner before so this is all very new.  Reaching out to the BP community for some guidance.  Should I use the partner to get a loan? Or should we co-borrow?  Is there a templated partnership agreement that folks can share?  What is the right legal entity for this type of partnership investment?

Thank You for your help!

Cheng

@Josh Davidson - Hi Josh!

Welcome to BP!  Sounds like we're on the same boat.  I originally purchased a duplex in JP to house hack and turned it into a rental after I moved out.  Happy to meet up and chat if you're ever in the city.

Best,

Cheng

@Maria DiPasquale - Hi Maria!  Welcome to BP Boston!

I'm guessing we're on the same boat here.  I'm a Partners employee investing in real estate part time/on the side.  Happy to chat about Real Estate Investing if you're ever around town.

Best,

Cheng
