Soooo,  Is there anything that gives a landlord a financial incentive to 'donate' a rental for a period of time to those left homeless due to tornado, flood, etc.?

How do I fund mortgage brokers or companies that focus on mortgages and refinances for doctors, nurses, and medical professionals? It's for a nurse with a Masters in Nursing, who further educated herself and recently got a Nurse Practitioner degree. She owns a SFH house in Florida, if that matters

@Ivan Terrero, I didn't hit Post Reply. My brother has changed his mind.

@John Wielgolinski As for the deed situation, We FINALLY got everyone together and talked to a lawyer. He laid out what to do and what it would cost. My father is no longer a half owner. She owns half. Since she has dementia, the lawyer said house can NOT be deeded back to him. It would cost too much to do what he needs to do to get Power of Attorney or Guardianship and even then he is not guaranteed to be able to refinance so he can put in new HVAC duct work.  Also, until the wife passes, my stepsisters can not quit claim the house over to him. I appreciate your advice.

Congratulations and thanks for sharing.  Which links did you  use to research your paperwork?

@Account Closed

Thanks for this. It is in Lee County.  Is Naples in Collier County? My brother is talking about selling his Condo on the west side of 41 near Wiggins Lake Preserve.

@John Wielgolinski

Thanks so much for that. My sister talked to a para legal who said all three are on the deed, meaning my father is truly still a part owner BUT I am calling another lawyer and my sister has an appointment with her lawyer in August.  We will move forward from there. Thanks again.

@John Wielgolinski

Thanks for your reply.  Here is more info.

My father and brother bought it as Joint Tenants with Right of Survivorship, fee simple forever.

The new Warranty Deed reads-- Grantor has granted...sold to Grantee and (her) heirs and assigns forever a one-half undivided interest in Lot 17......

Since I can search the county the house is in and find a copy of the deed, I am assuming it is recorded. (Still learning the intricacies).

and Thank you for the issue of whether my brother signed the papers - I must confirm whether or not my brother signed anything.....so that is an avenue to head down.

I tried a title company and am now seeking an attorney.

I should add that the dementia or Alzheimer's thing has turned into an issue and that seems to be a major sticking point, which can be unstuck (I hope).

Ok I wrote about his before and have since learned that my father legally owns the mortgage, but does not own the house he is paying for.  How does this get reversed?

Background, My father and brother each own half of a house in Florida that they bought in the 90's. Around 10 years ago, my father thought he was splitting his half with his wife and says he accidentally deeded over his half ownership entirely to his second wife and step daughters.  This is truly a lesson in don't sign anything you don't understand!!!!

His agreement with my brother, Ed, was that Edward would get the house when my dad passed.  Regarding his wife's mental state at this time -- My sister, a nurse with a Masters Degree, talked to her doctor and they concluded she (Dad's wife) has either Alzheimers or dementia.  Officially, he has not put this diagnosis on paper but has written that she "needs help making cognitive decisions, etc.".

The lawyer who did the paperwork died and my dad has no record of the notes and the original agreement.

I am seeking a title company in the area (Fort Myers, Estero, Naples). What else can I direct him to do?
