Hi, any investors making deals happen in Port Saint Lucie/Treasure Coast area? If so what is your strategy (BuyN'Hold, Flips) and how's its going? And has anyone have experience with buying a Chinese drywall home?

Thank you all for your great hospitality and replies. @Michael Lemieux - - I will be residing in Port Saint Lucie and considering to invest in the Palm Beach, Boca Raton to Fort Lauderdale area. When I get back I’m going to finish up with my Business Degree and will be pursuing Real Estate. I have some construction background that I use to do back in 2006 when new construction was booming. I did the rough and trim with a local A/c Company installing duct work and system install. I am really considering flipping as my first option so it can build enough capital to get into the buy and hold market. When it comes to money I have a strong background in personal finance and help others get out of debt and teach and preach about living within your means and to stop keeping up with the joneses or better yet the Kardashian. The little bit of wealth I have today is due to the basic principle of living within your means I was also fortunate enough to have a great mentor who is a financial advisor who has done it all. I don’t want to get into religion or politics but personal finance is a lot like religion you either thrive and want more of it or it goes in thru one ear and out the other. With all that being said I want to Thank you all again for the Information and warm welcomes. Always remember personal finance is paramount

Good afternoon Tyler, I used lowe's for granite counter tops in my home and It took about 1 month for the installers to put them in. It's true that they do sub out the work and you should look into who is doing the job. I decided to go with lowes because they were having a good sale plus I received a military discount which saved me 800 dollars off the total purchase price.

Good Morning fellow investors, I am currently a United States Marine who will be making a transition back into the civilian population. I reside in Temecula California I have been happily married to my wife for 6 years who supports my plan in getting into the real estate business. During my time in the military I have acquired many critical skills in operating with and managing individuals in a team work environment. I have a passion for investing in the stock market and desire to get my feet wet in the real estate market in order to reach my financial freedom and get out of the so called rat race. I started reading rich dad poor dad and it really changed the way I look at life and I now find myself striving to learn everything about the industry in real estate. What really motivated me with real estate is that I am currently getting ready to sell my house and I will be receiving a nice capital gain on it. At first I thought I was going to live in it for many years as most first time home buyers believe. I have made many upgrades to my home and after 3 years I decided to relocate and move back to the East coast in South Florida. I would like to consider the time I’m living in the home to be a live in flip. I do not wish to get into the flipping of houses mostly due the fact that I love dividend investing for the nature of its steady income to re-invest and make a bigger Return. With all that being said I look forward to networking and meeting successful individuals big or small to establish a connection as I'm always hungry for knowledge and in return I will dedicate my time and effort to make our relationship grow and prosper.
