Hi @Eric S. I'm a CPA hoping to get into real estate investing soon, so I've done a lot of research and am pretty familiar with what goes on in real estate transactions.  That said, my work experience has mostly been in the audit/corporate accounting industry rather than the taxes, but am considering doing taxes on the side until investing in real estate starts to take up all of my free time.  I've probably done 50 or so personal returns, but not any business returns yet.

So, I don't know if I'm what your looking for, but I'd definitely be interested in providing any help or assistance you might need, whether it is helping with your taxes or just general accounting advice.

Hi @Darryl Harlow . Welcome to the site.  I'm also new and am hoping to start investing in the area soon.  I don't have the capital to do it alone either, so I'm hoping to save up and see if any relatives are interested in doing a deal.  Are you planning on doing the rehabs yourself, or contracting them out?  Buy and hold, or fix and flip?  Good luck, and I hope you're able to find someone to help get you started.

I haven't used them, but I hear that RentPrep is a good source for this. Check out Episodes 62 and 175 of Mike Simmons' podcast "Just Start Real Estate." He interviews the founder/CEO in one, then has them talk through the tenant candidates they screened for him in the second one. Good insights there.

@Account Closed

That's pretty awesome. How much does a total renovation like that cost you? I imagine not very much since you do all the labor.

Hey Cody, welcome to the club. I just joined last week and am in the same position you are in.  I haven't pursued any deals yet, but am in the planning, networking, and learning phase of the business.  I'm planning on starting out with fix and flips and probably convert over to buy and hold later on.

Thank you guys for your support and advice.  I look forward to connecting and hopefully helping each other out in the future. @Steven Bays and @Account Closed , let me know how the realtor license process goes.  I'm considering that in the future.  I'll probably be in touch with some questions as I go.

Hey everyone! My name is Coleman and I've been wanting to get into real estate since my college days several years ago.  I was planning on waiting until I have more money saved up before I started, but after spending hours a day over the past couple weeks listening to the Just Start Real Estate podcast, @Mike Simmons has convinced me that maybe I don't have to wait.

I want to start doing fix and flips outside of my regular full-time job as a CPA.  Starting with one or two a year until I get some experience and figure out what I'm doing. Then hopefully one day I will be able to do real estate full-time.  So I'm looking to build my network, including hoping to find a mentor that can give me a few pointers along the way.  Also, since I don't have the savings for down payments and rehabs yet, I'm hoping to partner up with some private money lenders that would be willing to finance 100% of the purchase and rehab costs.

Also, if anyone needs any accounting advice, let me know and I'll try to find the answer for you.  I don't know all of the answers, but I can usually find them!
