This is partially related to real estate, but more of a general business question.

I do photography for Google's Street View program, they now provide Streetview for the inside of businesses - this is what I do on the side, and its a lot of fun and I make decent money at it.

I have referred 3 of my friends to the program (anyone can join) because my attitude is that there is always plenty of opportunity out there, plus it is inevitable that other photographers will join the program in my area anyways.

With Google's program, you cannot photograph real estate for sale. I started researching ways to photograph virtual tours for real estate.

After a couple weeks of hard work and many sleepless nights, I found a great platform to provide virtual tours for real estate.

Tonight my 3 buddies and I are meeting on a G+ Hangout to discuss the future of the program and how it relates to us.

They will without a doubt, ask me how I am able to create and host virtual tours for real estate.

Since I have worked so hard on this, is it really fair for me to just tell them how to do it? Or am I worrying too much about competition?

This platform is pretty slick... it is compatible with all devices including iphone/ipad so I am pretty excited for it. There are very few virtual tours for listings in my area, so the opportunity is there. I just don't want to give away my hard work.

Thanks.

Post: Need Advice About Local Mortgage Company - Kansas City

Hey guys I've been thinking about refinancing my duplex to a lower rate. There is a local company here in KC called "A1 Mortgage", Ive been hearing their ads about their "freedom loan" and need to pick your brains to see if there is a catch.

They advertise it as paying mostly principle, so you will be able to pay it off in less than 10 years without changing monthly payment AND no closing costs. Anyone from KC have a review of this program?

Here is a link too: http://www.mya1mortgage.com/freedom-loan

Thanks

Steve you are referring to having a permantent bracket mounted? Ehh I dont like that idea, no options for the tenant. They might want a tv stand instead and have an ugly bracket on the wall.

New tenants will be moving in soon and they mentioned mounting a flat screen TV. How do you guys handle this?

First thought is to let them mount it and then deduct a reasonable amount to patch the hole (if its a giant hole) when they leave.

This is not a section 8 property either, I live one one side of the duplex and rent the other.

Say I install wainscoting in a bathroom where it gets steamy during a hot shower. Is wainscoting prone to water damage over time?

Realtor.com has a great feature that lets you specify what your looking for and the site will auto email you all new listings within your criteria.

I got my first deal this way. The first day it hit the internet I was over at the duplex looking at it and made an offer. 1st come 1st serve.

There is an old recessed lighting housing in the ceiling of a duplex I bought. On the inside it says "Pry-Lite". Ive done some searching and have found no such product. I'm hoping to find some new trim for it instead of ripping it out of the joists.

Anybody heard of this brand and where you could get it? No telling how old it is, I bought the duplex from the original owners and the place is from the 1950's.

Thanks.

Post: Paint Roller is Shedding

I've been painting cielings with kilz and have noticed the roller is leaving shreds of material all over the cieling. I've noticed this in offices and other houses too; both on walls and ceilings.

Does the quality of the roller need to be better or the quality of the paint? I also painted some walls with mid-grade sherwin williams and have noticed some shredding. Whats the secret to a smooth coat of paint with no shreds? :D
